News Update
  • Are you registered to vote? Pick up a Voter Registration Form, available in both English and Spanish, at our Circulation and Reference Desk areas. Forms must be at the Registrar of Voters office in Town Hall by November 1 to be eligible to vote in the November 8 election. The library will deliver forms filled out by October 31.
  • Now that an autumn chill is in the air, don't forget about our convenient Drive-Thru Window (located along Godfrey Place) to pick up your holds, make donations, pay fines and submit returns. Two convenient item return receptacles are also located in our parking lots.

Innovation Day
Saturday, October 22 @10am to 2pm
Discover, Dabble, Do-It-Yourself at Wilton Library's 2nd Innovation Day! Join us for a festival of making, creating and demonstrating for all ages. Solder a blinkie pin; knit and purl; learn how to make and taste wine; do basic home plumbing or tie flies; test out a 3-D Doodler, virtual reality glasses, snap circuits or Makey Makey; create a small terrarium; take apart an old monitor; watch a portrait painter; attend a 3-D Design workshop; color; etch a glass votive holder; make cards; light up an apron with LEDs and more! Then grab a snack from one of the food trucks parked outside. The day is free! Certain activities will have a nominal fee to offset costs. More info
Parenting: How to Talk So Kids Will Listen and Listen So Kids Will Talk
Mondays, October 17 through December 5 @10am
This six-week workshop presented by Wilton Youth Council  and Wilton Library is based on the book How to Talk So Kids Will Listen, an international best seller that is a favorite of parenting experts. The program teaches valuable skills useful in any relationship, but particularly geared toward the parent/child relationship. The program will be lead by Dr. Susan Bauerfeld, a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, ADHD Coach, and Parenting Consultant with a private practice in Wilton. No class October 31 or November 7. Waitlist only
Area Author Affair: Anatole Konstantin, Through the Eyes of an Immigrant
Monday, October 17 @6pm 
Author Anatole Konstantin continues his journey which was set in motion in A Red Boyhood-Growing Up Under Stalin. He writes his love letter to America in Through the Eyes of an Immigrant in which he recounts arriving in New York in 1949 and the trials and tribulations of pursuing the American Dream. He founded PDC International Corporation and lives in Connecticut. Documentary filmmaker and New Perspectives programmer, Megan Smith-Harris, will interview Konstantin. More info & register
Carolynn Sears: Gardeners, Keepers of Our Natural Heritage
Tuesday, October 18 @7pm 
Please join us for a talk with Carolynn Sears, Master Gardener and member of the Pound Ridge Conservation Board. Sears will speak about the threat of invasive plant species and what we can do in our own backyards to combat the problem. In 2012, Sears co-founded The Invasives Project (TIP), which she continues to co-direct. Co-sponsored by the Norwalk River Watershed Association, Woodcock Nature Center and Wilton Library. More info & register
