The Legislature has approved New Jersey's first gas tax hike since 1988 and raise prices by 23 cents a gallon.
The gas tax increase cleared the Senate by a vote of 24-14. The Assembly then voted 44-27 on the tax increase, approving a deal to raise the state's gas tax to pay for work on roads, bridges and public transit.
Bergen Light Rail in Line for Rebirth
Elected leaders in eastern Bergen County on Saturday cheered the news that the long-delayed extension of light rail service into Bergen may finally happen, thanks to the unexpected deal in Trenton to raise the gasoline tax by 23 cents a gallon to replenish the state's Transportation Trust Fund.

More than half of the owner occupied households in the U.S. are part of a homeowner association (HOA). HOAs provide a variety of services to the community in which it belongs-lawn maintenance, snow removal and uniformity in home appearance just to name a few. However, HOAs with too many restrictions may deter potential buyers. In 21 states, HOAs have "super liens" for unpaid assessments, meaning the HOA could foreclose on properties before a lender.
FHA Revises Handbook on Appraisals
NAR sent a letter to the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Julián Castro thanking him for listening to NAR's concerns and revising the Single Family Housing Policy Handbook 4000.1 (the Handbook) appliance review requirements for FHA appraisals.
