A MODERN TEA COMES TO AN END AFTER 10 SUCCESSFUL YEARS!
Dear A Modern Tea Supporter,
 
What began in 2006 as a heart health event for women grew into a spectacular annual affair promoting health and wellness throughout the state of Connecticut. Hosted by the Community Health Network of CT Foundation, Inc., A Modern Tea offered guests important and timely health information through a variety of workshops hosted by local experts. By attending A Modern Tea, guests gained improved health awareness that helped them make better decisions about their own health and the health of their families.
A Modern Tea grew in size and scope over the years, while the Foundation was required to downsize. After careful consideration regarding the current size and resources of the Foundation, we have decided to discontinue the A Modern Tea event. In addition to serving our guests directly, A Modern Tea also raised funds to support our important and beneficial programs, KHAIR and Cooking Matters of Connecticut:  
 
  • KHAIR (pronounced "care") serves at-risk youth by offering one-on-one mentoring relationships and a range of workshops designed to teach important life skills and bolster self-confidence.
  • Cooking Matters is a program that works to ensure children and parents with lower incomes learn to shop, prepare, and eat healthy foods on a limited budget.
 
We sincerely appreciate your support of these programs through the A Modern Tea event. These programs will now require new sources of funding and we ask you to consider supporting these vital community programs by donating directly to the Foundation.
Your support helps us keep our mission in motion: to advance, support and promote programs and activities that fundamentally improve the health status of the people of Connecticut. The Foundation is both proud and grateful to have been able to contribute to the health and well-being of the Greater New Haven area for the last 10 years through A Modern Tea.Thank you again for your continued support and for being a faithful partner to the A Modern Tea event during its 10-year run.
