Construction Update

A teacher recently captured this photo of a rainbow over the construction site of the Campus Life Center & Gym. In spite of the rain, much progress is being made on the new building, and we are very thankful for God's blessings over this project. Thanks to each and every donor and prayer warrior for their contribution.

The building is scheduled to be completed by the end of the 2016-2017 school year. Until then, we encourage you to watch the progress via the school website. (Walls will be going up over next 4 weeks.)

Volunteer Opportunities!

The PSO is an enrichment program eager to partner with volunteers who are excited to share their God-given gifts and talents with CCS. Volunteers are essential throughout the school year to support the mission and directly impact the lives of students, faculty, staff and administrators.

Unashamed & Thankful!

On Friday, Aug. 19, school families joined together to celebrate and dedicate the year to the Lord at Blue & White Night 2016. Due to inclement weather, the venue was changed from Warrior Stadium to Metropolitan Baptist Church. Thanks to everyone on staff at The MET, thanks to our sponsors - Beck & Masten, Methodist Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, and Mustang Cat, and thanks to our many CCS volunteers for helping to make the event a very blessed and successful one!

Warrior families enjoyed delicious meals and desserts from local vendors, contests, face painting and a fun CCS photo booth. After dinner, the Warrior drumline ushered everyone into the main sanctuary for the back-to-school program including special messages from Executive Director Stephen Novotny and Board President Trey Nicholson, the introduction of fall sports teams and cheerleaders by Athletic Director Marsha Martin, and praise and worship with Building 429.

As part of their "UNASHAMED" tour, Building 429 encouraged students to be thankful for their parents, their school and to be UNASHAMED of the gospel of Jesus Christ - always living in a way that honors Him

Founding Member of CCS Home with the Lord

On August 4, 2016, a member of the founding committee that created Cypress (Community) Christian School, Gerald (Jerry) Van Beek, went home to be with our Lord. He and his wife Edith (who went home in 2013) were not only founders, but longtime supporters of our school with their time, talents and resources until their very last days.

Jerry is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Pam and John Van Rieg (current CCS staff member), his granddaughters Jessica Van Rieg Gates (CCS alumna '06) and Michelle Van Rieg Stanton (CCS alumna '08) and their families, as well as additional extended family and friends.

We thank God for the Van Beeks and for the confidence that they are together forever with our Lord Jesus Christ.

Technology Upgrades

For the 2016-2017 school year, CCS has implemented the use of a new secure online learning resource at the secondary level. Teachers use " Schoology" to post materials and assignments for their classes and interact with students in a secure online learning environment. This software incorporates the best of modern interfaces so it's easy to learn and access relevant information on any device. Read more about student technology resources via the School Profile page on the CCS website.
