Visits to Colleges
Please note the policy on college visits in the student handbook.  A note from the parent requesting the college visit must be given to the attendance office at least 2 days in advance.  The student must then obtain a "college visit" form from his or her guidance counselor or from the York Catholic website (Forms & Documents).  The college will verify the visit on this form which must then be returned to the attendance office.  If the student will be absent two or more days, a Trip Form must be obtained from the Studies Office.  This procedure must be followed for the absence to be excused and missed work to be accepted.  Two college visits (during school days) per year will be permitted.
Ski Club
We are excited to offer Ski Club again for York Catholic students this winter.   Buy your Roundtop night club card through us and benefit from our group rate.  Cards can be purchased online or by check, and now is the time to buy.   Prices go up after November 7.  For pricing information and packages, visit www.skiroundtop.com.  If you would like to order online, directions follow.   Forms are available in the main office for anyone wishing to pay by check, and all hard copy orders must be in to Mrs. Hand by 3:00 PM on Friday, November 4.

If you need a ride to the mountain or are looking for someone to ski with, come to Roundtop with us on Sunday afternoons.  Weather willing, the first Sunday shuttle will run on January 8. The YC green van leaves the front parking lot of school at 2:00 PM, and returns by 9:00 PM.  All are welcome, grades 7-12, and ineligibility rules apply.

Directions for online ordering:
  • Go to www.skiroundtop.com
  • Go to online sales and select night club cards
  • Our group name is actually a number: 20387
  • Our group password is: member

We look forward to some YC fun on the slopes.  Come ski or board with us!
St. Joseph York Visits
Yesterday, priests from St. Joseph York parish joined their parishioner students for lunch.

Students were encouraged to stay involved in their church through their time and talent.

Students were appreciative of the parish-provided subsidy to York Catholic in support of tuition.

Retreat - 11th Grade

The Junior Retreat was held today at St. Katharine Drexel Parish in Mechanicsburg.  To tie in with the Year of Mercy and the students' study of Morality, the topic was Forgiveness.  We heard about the ministry of Rachel's Vineyard from Becky Biter and then explored forgiveness as a class.

In Case You Missed It...
Partially from the United Parishes website:

Our U12M Saints (and Coach Tim Staub) had a blast cheering on the York Catholic Varsity Boys to a 3-1 win over Bermudian Springs.  The boys enjoyed joining the team for prayer, pre-game cheer, and serving as ball boys during the game. Coach Staub said it  gave him the opportunity to discuss different tactics and approaches with the boys on the sideline compared to trying to explain it at a practice. The boys were also excited to see a lot of players they recognized on the field.

Earlier in the month, the girls from U10F Glory (coached by former YC soccer players, Kristin Baker '97 and Erin Fontana '99) also enjoyed joining the York Catholic Varsity Girls team during their pre-game activities.  The girls also had a great time cheering from the sidelines during the game!

Special thanks to Coach McShane, Coach Nattans, and the YC teams for sharing a great experience with our future YC athletes!
