Oklahoma Engaged: News Reports Focus on Voter Participation
Oklahoma Engaged logo
KGOU and KOSU are collaborating on a reporting initiative centered around voter participation and the upcoming election, Oklahoma Engaged. With funding from the Kirkpatrick Foundation, the first in this series of reports examined why Oklahoma's voter turnout is among the lowest in the nation. Subsequent reports will look into other aspects of voting and some of the initiatives that will be on the ballot in November.

Presidential Debate Coverage Includes Live Fact Checking

NPR is providing live coverage of the presidential and vice-presidential debates, followed by analysis from its Politics unit consisting of reporters and editors immersed in this election season. But for the 2016 race, NPR is also providing real-time fact checking online, to help voters evaluate statements made during the debate. You can see it in action on KGOU.org Sunday, Oct. 9 as the nominees for president meet for their second debate at 8 p.m. (CT).

Here & Now Broadcasts Live From KGOU

KGOU welcomed a crew from our midday news program, Here & Now, earlier this week for a station visit and reporting on several Oklahoma issues. Host Robin Young was on the air for Tuesday's show live from the KGOU studios. She also met with listeners Monday evening for an informal Cocktails and Conversations event at Scratch Kitchen & Cocktails in Norman. What a pleasure to meet Robin and producer Karyn Miller-Medzon, and to show them our state!

THE HIT MEN perform a Billboard Chart-topping show of the hits they performed with artists such as Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons, Carly Simon, Cat Stevens, Elton John and Jim Croce. They bring their exciting multi-media production to OCCC on Friday, Oct. 21, with behind-the-scenes video shot on the road and in recording sessions with the stars.
