Measure 97: Separate from fiction
Have you seen ads claiming that Oregon ranks "dead last" in corporate taxes?

That is
dead wrong.
The fact is that Oregon's corporate tax rate is in the middle of the pack nationally.

The Eugene Chamber is working to defeat Measure 97, the $6 billion tax on C-corporations with more than $25 million in annual Oregon sales. This costly and damaging proposal is a hidden sales tax that will cost the average Oregon household $600 per year due to increased costs for everyday items, without any guarantee for how the revenue will be spent.

Help us spread the word that Measure 97 is bad for local business. Stop by the Chamber for yard signs and bumper stickers today.

It's almost here!

Taking Risks in Business and Art
Friday, November 4, 7:30 - 9:00 AM, Hult Center
Please help us celebrate the creativity and connections that make this community unique with our annual BBRAVA Breakfast. This inspiring event is hosted by the Arts & Business Alliance of Eugene ( ABAE) and will feature a keynote address by Jeff "JC" Geiger entitled, "Where the Wild Things Are: Taking Risks in Business and Art"

Jeff "JC" Geiger is local arts provocateur and author who recently sold his debut novel, Wildman, to Disney-Hyperion and transitioned into life as a full-time artist. In this interactive talk, JC will speak on the essential, dangerous, and catalytic role risk plays in achieving success. Whether it is the risk an artist takes in creating new work, the risk businesses take in developing new products, or the risk a funder takes when investing in a new social initiative, JC will explore the potential hazards, rewards, and what we have to gain by risking everything.

VIP Tables can be reserved for $225 and individual tickets are $25. Please register online or contact John Barry, ABAE Managing Director, for more information.
