Are you ready?

Selwood's 31st season started with a bang this past Friday.

Many sportsman enjoyed a continental pheasant shoot, with a

couple of early season quail hunts, and lots of activity on the clays course. The weather couldn't have been more perfect.

Watching the retrievals from some great retrievers only added to the beauty of the day.

As the day came to a close, many enjoyed a "Cuban," a local craft beer and a few of the south's best smoked wings... while watching another magical sunset over Selwood.

We want to welcome each of you back to Selwood Farm, and hope that we can make your visit a memory you and your guests won't soon forget!

A few new additions at Selwood:

Our brand new kennel is open for all of your boarding needs. Remember us for all of your short-term and log-term boarding needs.

Selwood's new "Summer House" is a great place for any special event.

	Helice on the Rise!

Helice... If you like upland hunting, this is the sport for you!

Helice Event:

Please come join us for another exciting monthly helice race. Our next race is scheduled for Saturday, October 15th.

The cost of $120.00 and includes lunch, beverages, 30 targets from 27 meters, and $20.00 going to the purse which will pay 50/30/20.

Registration - 8:00, Practice - 8:30, Race begins at 9:00.

Remember this event includes lunch and is limited to 25 shooters. Call or email our office to reserve your spot.

*Non-shooter and/or guest lunches with beverage fee $25.00.

Selwood's Country House offers restful and relaxing accommodations. From private rooms to spacious decks and porches, the Country House is ideal for comfort and relaxation. Although we are not a bed-n-breakfast, our lodge includes 5 bedrooms with private baths, available for rental to hunters and sporting enthusiasts.

Our Smokehouse and Meeting Rooms offer an adjoining double occupancy bedroom. There is a lovely private bathroom and also private access to the porch and the porch fireplace.

The Summer House is the perfect place for that outdoor feel with the comfort of a roof over your head. You will be sure to enjoy a breath of fresh air as you look out over our beautiful Helice course and our 5 Stand. We are sure that The Summer House will be a favorite spot to many!

Shooters tip of the month...

It all starts with your Break Point!!

What is the most important part of any shot? It is your break point- t he place in the line of flight of any target, where the shooter believes he can break the bird.

A few tips to keep in mind:

1) study the leading edge

2) position your body to be in sync at the breakpoint

3) visualize a positive picture

4) execute the perfect shot

It all starts with your breakpoint. Now let's get shooting!
