TECHNICIAN TALK
Preparation RV Maintenance Tips
- Inspect the roof: Look for weak seams, cuts in the RV roof and degrading sealants to repair.
- Preparation is key: Make sure your RV roof is clear of debris, dust and is dry before beginning any work on it.
- Use the right products: Using the right cleaners, sealants and materials for the RV roof type you have. Particularly important on EPDM and TPO (rubber RV roof).
- Follow the directions on the products you choose to use: Give them time to cure, set, dry, etc.
- While performing RV roof maintenance: Be sure to look over your skylights, AC unit, vents and ladder, as they can attract mold and dirt and may also crack. In most cases, don't seal around your AC unit, as it may disrupt the condensation drainage system and push the condensation inside your RV.

Great Places to Visit in Skagit Valley
|
One of the most beautiful lookouts in all of Skagit V
alley
is the
Mt. Erie lookout
in Anacortes.
Being able
to w
atch the sunset,
looking down upon
the
San Juan Islands is truly something special.
It has an easy access road to drive straight up to the top. It is a great area for the family to have a picnic and be able to get outside before the leaves start falling.

Service Reminder
Run Your RV Generator
Letting your generator sit unused for too long could cause you to replace it years before you should. Gasoline has a shelf life of about 30 days.
After that time, it can start to break down and damage your generator's internal components. You have to "keep it flowing" for lack of a better phrase.
To do so, it's recommended that you run your generator two hours a month around 50% load. This will keep it primed and ready. Failure to do so can cause your carburetor to varnish, preventing fuel from effectively powering the generator. Once this happens, there is no reasonable way to clean it, so you may end up having to replace it, which needless to say will be costly. |
