SHREVEPORT SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA PRESENTS
DISCOVERY CONCERTS ON JAN. 21 AND 22

Students in fourth and fifth grades from Caddo and Bossier Parishes are invited to attend a free live symphony orchestra concert at RiverView Theater
 
SHREVEPORT, LA, JANUARY 19, 2016 - Students in fourth and fifth grades from Caddo and Bossier Parishes are invited to attend a free Shreveport Symphony Orchestra concert at RiverView Theater on January 21 and 22 at 9:30 AM.
 
Music Director Michael Butterman will lead the orchestra in a program entitled "Cheers, Fears, and Jeers: Music and Emotion," in which students learn how various musical elements can combine to communicate different moods. This year's concert features works by Dvořák, Mahler, Mendelssohn, and more.
 

The SSO's Musical Discovery Series is an area-wide educational initiative serving schools in Caddo and Bossier Parishes. The program is funded by Community Foundation of North Louisiana, the Caddo Parish School Board and Chase Bank.
