Teen Church: Dealing with Doubts

Dear Parents,

Our discussion in Teen Church today focused on dealing with doubts from the series entitled "My New Life With Jesus". Every Christian walks through times of doubt in their faith journey. Doubt is normal and even healthy. It's what we do with our doubts that's important. Our discussion will focus on the Genesis account of Abraham and Sarah. God promised the couple a child in their old age, and even though Abraham is regarded as a faith hero, he still doubted God's promise.

Please have a conversation with your teenager this week about doubt. You can begin with these questions
  • When have you doubted Jesus or one of his promises?
  • How do you think Jesus feels about our doubts and questions?
  • What makes you feel comfortable or uncomfortable sharing your doubts? As a family, how can we support one another in that area?
Next week's discussion will focus on Prayer and how we can take our concerns to the Father.

Thank you for your ongoing support and prayers for our ministry!
Youth and Teens Panel Discussion

On Sunday, October 23 after the 10:45 a.m. service the Parenting Ministry will hold a Panel Discussion Q&A with experts discussing issues facing kids and teens today. Lunch served in the VCFH at 12:30 p.m. All families invited. Childcare available. Youth and teen activities during panel discussion. Bring a non-HFC family with you to win a prize.

Camp HighRoad

The Teen Ministry is planning to go to Camp Highroad in November to challenge their High Ropes Course. The course includes three levels of challenges at 20ft, 35ft and 45ft, an 800 foot long zip line, a giant swing, and a "vertical playpen!" Each level of the course includes four challenges, or "bridges", that you must overcome before moving to the next challenge.

More details will follow in next week's newsletter.
Memory Verse for the Week: John 3:16

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
