The Alabama Career Center System, in partnership with WKRG-TV and Bishop State Community College, will host a maritime recruitment event on Tuesday, October 4 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bishop State Community College-Central Campus, 1365 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Ave, Mobile, AL 36603. 
 
This recruitment event is aimed at filling more than 1,800 positions in the maritime industry. Positions include: welders, machinists, electricians, pipefitters, mechanics, engineers, as well as support and administrative positions.  Applicants with prior experience in the maritime industry or those who have completed or are attending maritime training are strongly encouraged to attend.
 
Jobseekers should bring resumes, dress professionally, prepare to interview and pre-register online a t www.labor.alabama.gov/jobfair.  Pre-registering will allow for faster entry, and participants are strongly encouraged to print their confirmation and bring it with them to the job fair or to save their confirmation e-mail on their phones or smart devices.   Maritime employers scheduled to attend, are Austal USA, Horizon Shipbuilding, Hutco, Ranger International, and others.
