Milton High School is proud to offer opportunities for our parents to engage in conversations that involve our students.  Milton's Parent University will be hosting informational sessions in October regarding our student device deployment and our 1:1 initiative. Items that will be discussed at these meetings include, but are not limited to
  • how the device (Microsoft Surface) will be used in the classroom
  • expectations of students
  • protection/insurance options
  • digital citizenship
  • device safety and security

MARK YOUR CALENDARS! The Inaugural Milton High School Hall of Fame Inductees will be honored during a pre-game ceremony on October 7, 2016.
Please join us on Friday, October 7, at 5:30PM for the Milton High School  Hall of Fame Induction Tailgate . The food for the tailgate will be provided by 'que Barbecue and the cost for the meal is only $10. The tailgate will be on the front lawn of the school under HOF tent. (Please contact Pat Long at  [email protected]  for RSVP and payment).

After the tailgate come watch your Milton Eagles Football Team take on the West Forsyth Wolverines at 7:30PM in the opening of region play. Tickets are only $8. Tickets for the game can be purchased online:

All alumni are invited to join the Milton High School family on Saturday, October 8 for the Inagural  Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. The  event will begin with a  Meet and Greet at 7:00PM and the  Induction Ceremony at 7:30PM in the newly redesigned Milton Media Hub.

KATARINA WILCHER NAMED TO
ALL-AMERICAN MARCHING BANDWILCHER
Congratulations to Katarina Wilcher for her selection to the U.S. Army All-American Band.  Kat is one of only 125 student musicians from around the country selected as a member of this year's "All-American Marching Band" through a rigorous audition process last spring. Representatives from the U.S. Army All-American selection tour came to Milton High School last Wednesday to officially recognize her and induct her into this year's group!

In January, the All-American Marching Band will perform during halftime at this year's U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas, the nation's premiere All-American High School Football Game.

Milton High School welcomes "Starmites" Milton Theatre Company invites you to come share an hour with a superhero, spacepunk, diva, possibly some banshees and more at Milton Theatre's presentation of "Starmites" on October 4th & 5th, 7:30PM.

Tickets are available online www.miltontheatrecompany.com ($10/$12) and will also be sold at the door. This is Milton's Georgia Thespian Conference (GTC) One Act competition piece. You don't want to miss this epic show set in a fantasy world with the guardian angels of inner space.

This past week there were several incidents where Milton faculty members or students were almost hit by parent cars in the faculty parking area. We will monitor this process closely over the next few weeks. Parents are reminded to follow all traffic rules and laws when dropping-off in the morning. Further incidents may result in no student drop-offs in the mornings.  Again, please drive safely when dropping-off in the morning.

Milton Baseball Team Towel Drive for Red Shield Shelter
During Homecoming Week, the Milton Baseball Team will be "Doing the Most Good" for those in most need with a "new bath towel drive" for The Salvation Army's Red Shield Shelter in downtown Atlanta.  Located a block from the Aquarium, this is the only shelter in metro Atlanta where a family in need can stay together when they've lost their housing-and they are in desperate need of new towels.  Watch for more details on how you can help by bringing new bath towels to school during homecoming week-and you could win Falcons tickets for "pitching in!"

9-11 GRADE STUDENTS - THE PTSA IS COMING!
The PSAT-a key step in your child's journey to college!  On Wednesday, October 19, all 9th-11th grade students will be taking the PSAT/NMSQT, a test of the skills and knowledge essential for college and career that students are learning in class.

We encourage your child to take advantage of the many benefits the PSAT/NMSQT offers:
  • Connects students to colleges and universities across the country, and to scholarship organizations.
  • Prepares students for the new SAT® and college and fuels practice recommendations on Khan Academy®.
  • Matches students with AP® courses that make the most of their academic strengths. AP classes can provide an edge in the admission process, and an opportunity to earn college credit.

We are pleased to have guest presenters from Georgia State University, Auburn University, Gwinnett Technical College, Applerouth Tutoring Services, and Peachtree College Planning.  Junior Parent Night will be on  Thursday, October 13  from 7:00-8:30PM in the MHS Auditorium .

FENCING
The Milton Fencing Team took home another medal in Round 2 of league competition. Co-Captain Jordan Hirsch brought home the Bronze for the women. Juniors Emma Grace Turner and Ethan Lee each scored points and advanced in the league standings. The majority of the team advanced out of DE's (direct eliminations). Seven of our freshman accomplished this in their first tournament! Another strong finish for the Fencing Eagles who continue to Defend the Mpire!
