In December 2015, the St. Charles Park District entered into an Intergovernmental Agreement with Community Unit School District 303 to manage the Norris Recreation Center's programs, memberships and services, while the school district would retain ownership of the physical building and property. Concepts such as character development, diction, and cold readings may seem like the stuff of backstage Broadway, but they are exactly the skills and techniques seasoned performers must have in their toolbox in order to get the parts they desire. Click to continue reading
Kid's Garage Sale 
Learn the pros and cons of entrepreneurship. Children are welcome to sell their gently-used items such as clothes, sporting goods, action figures, computer games, books, CDs, DVDs, videos and toys of all kinds. List the asking price on each item for sale. Booth reservation fee required. Seller is their own cashier and receives 100% of the sale revenue. Children must monitor booth during the sale. Registration required reserve booth space. Only refunds processed seven days prior to the start of the program will be granted.

Harvest Moon Hike
Come see the full moon rise through the trees and cast its mystical glow over the Hickory Knolls Discovery Center's natural area. Listen to stories about moon lore and learn amazing facts about the earth's lunar little sister. The hike will be on a grass trail over slightly uneven terrain. Children must be accompanied by a paying adult. Pre-registration required.

Line Dance 
Do you love music, like to dance, but don't have a partner? Learn to line dance! Each dance is a pattern of steps that repeats throughout the song. Learn 10-12 different dances to all sorts of music - country, pop, rock, oldies and current hits. Step sheets and video reviews are included so you'll remember what you learned. Dances vary so each session is unique. Wear smooth-soled shoes. No experience necessary.
