WELCOME BACK BBQ: SEPT. 29
Dean Dopson and the Hospitality Management Council (HMC) invite you to join us at our annual Welcome Back BBQ on Thursday, Sept. 29 during U-hour. Enjoy music, food and refreshments! You'll get the opportunity to explore all that Collins has to offer and get to meet The Collins College's 10 student organizations. This is the chance to get involved and see why our college is on the ranks. Come hungry! Register here.
SCHOLARSHIP DEADLINES
There are several Collins College scholarships with deadlines in the next 60 days. You can check our  calendar  for specific scholarship dates. Be sure to complete your applications soon! 
HRT 499 LIFESTYLE & INNOVATION
Wednesday Evenings, 6:00 pm, with Professor Audra Quinn. We first offered this course last fall and it was met with very favorable reviews. Here is a link to a story about last fall's class. Combining insights from creative problem-solving, effectual reasoning, guest speakers, and lean business modeling students will conceive, test, and propose innovative solutions to market problems in the hospitality industry. Professor Audra Quinn and a panel of hospitality industry professionals will assess the final reports and presentations.
This course is designed for students of junior or senior standing as it will be taught with 400-level rigor. Students may use this course as their required HRT 400-level support course. 
NEW COLLINS COLLEGE FACULTY
We welcomed eight new members to The Collins College family this fall, and six of them are graduates of The Collins College! Please welcome Lunch Chef Lecturer Antonio Muniz '05 (pictured), Lunch Dining Room Lecturer LaMarr Collins '11 (pictured), Hotel/Resort Operations Lecturer Jennifer Morgan '94, Club Operations Lecturer Lera Zelenskaya '09, Event Series Lecturer Sandy Simon, Lifestyle and Innovation Lecturer Audra Quinn, and Professional Work Experience Lecturer Connie Wooledge '05. The Collins College also recently hired 2016 graduate Angelica Jimenez as its Administrative Support Assistant at the front desk.

STUDENT PARKING 
Please note that there  is no student parking in the Kellogg West Parking Lot (Lot L). Students can use the two pathways by the Campus Center Marketplace or Camphor Lane. Students can also use the Bronco Express Shuttles B1 & B2 to get up the hill. You can check arrival times by downloading the CPP mobile app. More information can be found here

ALUMNI TOUR RITUAL BREWING CO.
The Collins College's former Beer & Culture professor, Owen Williams, invited Collins alumni to Ritual Brewing Co. in Redlands. Williams, co-founder of Ritual Brewing Co., hosted about 40 alumni for a tour and four tastings! A perfectly paired BBQ lunch was provided by Oak & Honey Barbeque Catering, a company owned by 2010 alumnus Ray Bishop. Click here to view photos from the event.
RKR OPENS FOR FALL QUARTER
The Restaurant at Kellogg Ranch will open its doors for fall quarter after a complete renovation of the dining room over the summer. The RKR will be open for lunch on Oct. 11 and dinner on Oct. 12. Stay tuned for a new seasonal menu. Reservations can be made at www.cpp.edu/rkr or by calling (909) 869-4700.
VISIT THE H CAFÉ
Come visit the new H Café at the student lounge in Building 80! H Café offers a small convenience store serving grab-and-go snacks, beverages, and self-serve Starbucks coffee. Its operating hours are Monday-Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. 
TASTE OF L.A.
19 students volunteered at The Taste, the Los Angeles Times' annual celebration of Southern California's culinary scene. Students were able to expose themselves to industry professionals while experiencing the heart of L.A.'s food and dining culture. 

STUDY ABROAD: ITALY
This past summer, 43 Collins College students got a taste of Italy during a month-long study abroad opportunity. They toured Rome and Florence and attended the Apicius International School of Hospitality. Click here to view photos.

CPP ANNUAL HOT DOG CAPER
On Thursday, Oct. 26, Cal Poly Pomona Foundation, Inc. will host the Hot Dog Caper to welcome faculty, staff, and students to campus. Hot Dog Caper attendees get free hot dogs, chips, Pepsi products, and frozen treats. In addition, there is live entertainment, games, prizes, and more! Click here for more information.  
CPP MOBILE APP
The CPP Mobile app is the official app from Cal Poly Pomona, and this version has been completely rebuilt!   Use CPP Mobile to locate buildings, track the Bronco Shuttle, look-up class information, view campus events, follow Bronco Athletics, and more. The app is available  for both iPhones and Androids
