TEACHER OF THE MONTH
AUGUST
|
SEPTEMBER
|
Mr. Marsh
Mr. Marsh's teaching philosopy:
He teaches first and foremost because he enjoys it, and the pleasure of teaching is the central constraint of his teaching style. He knows that if he is having fun and demonstrating a love of learning every day that joy and passion will resonate and translate with the students. As a result he focuses on trying to make learning fun - not just for the students but for himself! Performances, games, and short, integrated "mini-lectures" not only are interesting, but also allow him to create a rigorous, yet non-judgmental, learning environment.
|
Ms. Upshur
Ms. Upshur's teaching philosophy:
Her teaching philosophy started to develop during her childhood. She grew up in a rural Southern town, where the majority of the population worked on farms and worked in factories. She witnessed the lives of many families improve with each generation because of education. Her parents were educators and they instilled a passion for continuous learning or life-long learning by their examples. She believes that everyone is capable of learning. Her task is to provide her students with information, help them to understand how to apply what they learn, teach them how to interact in work-group settings and teach them to communicate their fact-based ideas or concerns. Her ultimate goal is to provide a learning experience that will enable students to effectively compete and excel in the global business environment.
