Jason Scott - Delphi, Ind.,Harvest arrives: Harvest is here, and it's my favorite time of the year. The early 2.8 maturity soybeans dried enough to get a couple days of cutting accomplished. They looked the best out of all of our varieties all season, and they cranked out the yield, too.
First field made 75 bushels per acre. Second field made 76. Test weight on them was fairly light at 55 pounds. We've been pushing for higher bean yields the past few years, and we seem to gain about two bushels per year. We hope the rest yield as well, but lodging is worse in the later ones.
