A Message From the CEO

We opened our Financial Planning and Education Center in 2002 in support of one of our core objectives, which is to provide you with as much financial education and as many financial options as we can.

The FPEC has expanded over the years, but the objective remains the same.  Every product and service that we offer through the FPEC creates an opportunity for you to gain knowledge, choices, and power as a financial consumer.

If you are struggling to repair your credit or you need some assistance in managing your debt, Gwen's Helping Hands is on site and will assist you, free of charge, courtesy of your credit union.

MAF, our financial planning partner, offers a huge variety of savings, investment, insurance, and retirement options that are tailored to the needs of police officers and their families.  Their guidance and expertise have been especially valuable to many of our members as they sort through the changes taking place regarding their health care and the impact those changes will have on their retirement planning.

Additionally, every one of these partners offer seminars throughout the year that are designed to provide you with the information you need and the answers you seek in a small group, obligation-free environment.

If you have not done so already, please consider joining the thousands of your fellow members who have gained valuable knowledge and financial power simply by starting a conversation with one of the resources available through the Financial Planning and Education Center.

As always, thank you for your continued loyalty and support!

Jim Bedinger
CEO

Skip-A-Pay is Almost Here!
Extra Jingle in Your Pocket, Extra Cheer for Your Holiday!

The holiday season is almost here and NPCU is tracking down some extra cash for our members!

We know that holiday expenses can add up, and Skip-A-Pay is the perfect way to have extra cash right when you need to!

How does it work? Simply apply online at  nationalpolicecu.com between October 3 and November 23, 2016.

If your application is approved, you will have the opportunity to skip your December loan payments. There is a $30 fee per loan to skip a loan payment.

Please note that you will need to apply for each loan individually. The following loans are not eligible for Skip-A-Pay: Home Equity, Homeowner Loans, Mortgages, Visa, Overdraft Protection, 10-1, Student, Tuition, Credit Builder and Member Business Loans. Any loan with an original term of 12 months or less is ineligible. If an approved loan is refinanced before the payment is skipped, the new loan will not be eligible for the promotion.

Only the December 2016 loan payment may be skipped. The finance charge on your loan will continue to accrue and the term of your loan will be extended by one month. Additional restrictions may apply.

Please note that applications will only be accepted online.

Featured Employee

Hello, my name is Tom O'Reilly and I am a Branch Representative for the credit union.

I started working at the North Branch this March.  I quite enjoy my daily duties as Branch Representative, which include processing basic transactions, solving account issues, and, overall, trying to be as helpful as I can to our members.  I recently started dispersing loans, which really gives me a chance to help others on an individual basis.

I am the second of six children: I have three brothers and two sisters.  I grew up on the North side of Chicago in East Rogers Park.  My son, Luke, just started his junior year of high school.

If I'm not playing a sport, on an adventure with my girlfriend, or watching the Cubbies, I am probably with my family.

My whole family tries to support the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation as much as possible.  Whether it's volunteering, running, golfing, or you name it, we try to be there.

Being part of the Gold Star Families has shown me a different side to the Chicago Police Department.  I was introduced to the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation, 100 Club of Chicago, and an endless number of officers offering help when my step-father was killed in the line of duty. My siblings and I will forever be indebted for their support and assistance.  When the opportunity to work for the credit union came up, I was excited.  I now have the chance to return the favor.

I enjoy working for CPFCU because of the environment.  Everyone is invested in each other's success.

News About LEOs Across the County

"Blue" Pride and Random Acts of Kindness

Individuals and businesses across the country continue coming together to show their appreciation and support of LEOs. While we promote as many of these as we can on our social media pages, the following are a few that deserve extra attention:

If you know of any random acts of kindness involving law enforcement, please keep us informed by emailing [email protected] .  We look forward to hearing from you and sharing your stories!

FAMILY TIES

The ties that bind are thick, especially in law enforcement, where the "The Thin Blue Line" connects one and all. In addition to "Blue Blood," there are many generational ties within LE, and it is a goal of ours to connect the dots. We kindly request you send us your multi-generational and siblings in LE photos along with a brief family history as we work to create the World's Largest LEO Family Tree. To get started, following are recent stories highlighting those in the "family business":
