PASTOR'S MESSAGE
Dear Friends in Christ,
In one year
, Lutherans worldwide will celebrate the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation. On October 31, 1517, Martin Luther nailed Ninety-Five Theses to the Castle Church door in Wittenberg, Germany. The Reformation brought great change to the Church and nations through the power of the Gospel.
The Lutheran Church Missouri Synod "Reformation 2017" logo includes Martin Luther's seal, a red heart in the middle of a rose with the cross in the center.
Explaining the seal Luther wrote, The heart in the middle of white rose shows that faith gives joy, comfort, and peace. It immediately sets [the believer] into the midst of a white, joyful rose, not like the peace and joy the world offers. That is why the rose should be white, not red. White is the color of the spirits and all angels."
Jesus Christ, crucified and resurrected is the center and rock of our faith. Jesus is the Word made flesh, He is both God and man. He came to earth to save us from our sin and give us the gift of life. The "still" in the logo bears witness that the message of God's love in Christ Jesus is still bearing witness in the world and his message of truth is just as relevant for our day as for it was over the centuries. For Jesus still saving sinners.

Now you can see the story of Martin Luther and the Reformation brought to life through astonishing artworks and historical objects, traveling outside Germany for the first time ever. Luther used art and the newly invented printing press to challenge Europe's leaders and spread a revolution of religious, cultural, and societal change. This exhibition includes paintings, sculpture, gold, textiles, and works on paper-as well as Luther's personal possessions and recent archaeological finds-that shed new light on an explosive era and the man who ignited it.
