The Wine Connection - Fine & Rare Wine Merchants
Outstanding Bourgogne Rouge

On Sale!

This is one of those opportunities that just doesn't come around very often, so I suggest you jump on it rather quickly.

I always tell my Burgundy customers not to rush to drink great Bourgogne Rouge from great vintages and solid producers. Even those wines usually need 5-10 years in the cellar to start showing their stuff.

There is no doubt that Michel Gaunoux is one of those producers, and in 2012 his Bourgogne Rouge is a knockout. It is barely entering its sweet spot, and in fact, as Allen Meadows points out, I would even give it a couple of more years.

All I can tell you is that the wine is superb and, at $25 per bottle a bonafide steal!

Unfortunately, I only have 10 cases available for October arrival and I am sure they will go quickly.

Move fast on this one!

Very Highly Recommended, Not To Be Missed!

Gaunoux Bourgogne Rouge
"An expressive nose of black cherry, spice and earth scents. There is fine richness to the relatively full-bodied flavors that possess a suave and very round mouth feel, all wrapped in an impressively long finish that displays only a hint of rusticity. This is an excellent example of the genre and would make for a terrific house red, especially if you would like a bit of aging potential to go with it. Outstanding! Drink 2018+" 88 points Allen Meadows (Burghound)

S pecial Price! $299 per case ($24.91 per bottle)

Amazing Italian Discovery!

Let's start with this: WOW!!

The old world meets the new world. A superb blend of Montepulciano d'Abruzzo and Primitivo, this fabulous wine is the result of a collaboration between Amedeo De Luca and American Ralph Falbo. From the impressive packaging, heavy, big glass bottle, wrapped in paper, to the wine's rich personality, it has it all. After tasting it, I was extremely impressed. The Primitivo supplies the richness and plushness, while the Montepulciano brings in the backbone, tannin and edge. It is a fantastic marriage!
