Doodlebug: So, Abadi is back home. We are assuming he is home early. I was not privy to his schedule so I can't confirm nor deny it.
Reasons to come home early?
The meetings either went well or they were not in agreement. Given all the published news, I would say that the meetings went well, and home either early or according to his set schedule. IMO, and my opinion only, I think he came home to arrive on their weekend, so that he could hit the ground running on Sunday.
He has a position to fill as minister of finance which he could sit in and act, or he needs to appoint someone. He also needs to announce a new CBI Gov. along with another handful of ministers.
So lots to do.
Lastly, I think Abadi has front row tickets for when the fat lady is going to get up and sing, thus, his urgency to go home. Lastly, lastly, they are serving cookies for dessert at the end of her concert.

KTFA: Johnnywg49: Anyone wonder why Abadi is back early? I have some guesses.
- Whenever someone is back early from a work trip, it's because what was needed to be accomplished on the trip was accomplished and thereby no need to "hang around" in the US.
- There is a lot of work still needed to be done in Iraq and Abadi thought that his time is better spent working in Iraq, especially since his work in the UN was done
- He needs to finish baking those RV cookies in Iraq to be ready prior to an election.

Parliament dismissed Zebari, the top Kurdish official in the Baghdad government, on Wednesday after questioning him last month over alleged corruption and mishandling of public funds, which he denies.

Cleitus: Thus the dragging of the feet by Abadi to get IT done quickly for o. As I mentioned yesterday, ' the SNUB seen around the world' bodes clearly today in Abadi's head as it did when it happened. All IMO of course (See article below)
SlappySquirrel: With 45 days until election day, it will be interesting to see how the whole Mosul liberation and an international Iraq will play into the elections.
I know it's been the opinion of Frank that Obama wants this for his legacy and or to help bolster Hillary Rodham into the W.H. That absolutely makes sense, since he's been known to take credit for anything/everything.
Imo, I feel time is running out, especially to help get Hillary in. If they wrap up Mosul let's say in a week or 2 plus international status, they may still have time to create a narrative and use it as a talking point in the campaign.
However, if Mosul drags on (fat lady) for another 3/4 weeks, it will be too late to use it as a campaign talking point.
How much pressure is O putting on Abadi? Is Abadi waiting till just around the elections or shortly thereafter, to thwart Obamas plan with Hillary? Time will tell.

Regarding the loan programme recently signed with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Egyptian president said that it would give creditability to the economic reform plan adopted by the Egyptian government.
Egypt reached a preliminary agreement with the IMF in August to secure a three-year $12 billion loan facility, which is awaiting approval from the fund's executive board.
