Buckingham Cooks This Sunday Cooks from the Buckingham community will be selling savory Latino fare after services this Sunday. No time to eat? They'll provide carryout. Proceeds from the sale will aid a Buckingham helper who is being treated for cancer.

Condolences to Jennifer Swisher and her son Antonio Persi on the death of her mother/his grandmother Sylvia Swenson Swisher.
Condolences to Jim Altman on the death of his wife, Marilyn Altman, at their retirement community in Pennsylvania. Jim and Marilyn have been members of UUCA for over 35 years. Congratulations to Lucy and Brian Goss and Emily and Arnoux Abraham, whose daughters - Hannah Goss and Lila, Jacqueline and Elena Abraham - were dedicated this past Sunday.
We hold in our hearts UUCA member David Talmage, whose father, Leon, entered end of life care, surrounded by his family in Pennsylvania.
Congrats to Kol Ami Northern Virginia Reconstructionist Community and Rabbi Gilah Langner, as together they begin a new era in the life of that congregation, which meets at UUCA. Rev. Linda was honored to represent UUCA at Rabbi Gilah's installation as Kol Ami's new Rabbi on September 11.

UUCA Leaders Celebrate the New Church Year

Last weekend, nearly 200 UUCAers gathered to celebrate a new church year and prepare for their ministries. The Choir, Covenant Group facilitators and RE teachers started the day with a shared breakfast and worship, before adjourning to a morning of work. First time volunteers were applauded, and a group of veterans (more than 15 years of leadership) led us in singing our Chalice Lighting! |
