 Happy Fall!


Fall officially arrived on Thursday and it will feel like it at this week's market!  Fall fruits and vegetables will be at the market in abundance, plus you'll find almost everything you need for your weeknight and weekend meals, your breakfast and brown bag lunches.

The cooler weather and business of fall are perfect for roasting vegetables and meats.  If you're looking for easy weeknight ideas, check the recipes out below.  Each one is an entire meal roasted in a single sheet pan.  How's that for easy cleanup?

I was sorry to miss last week's market but I had to fix this roof before the rain. I'm looking forward to seeing you this week with a full supply of bison meat.  Fall is a great time for crock pot meals with my bison. 
Birchrun Hills
Birchrun Hills Farm is a family owned, operated and responsibly managed dairy farm in Chester County, PA. Our beautiful herd of Holstein cows provides the fresh milk that we use to caringly hand craft raw milk cheeses!
We will be bringing a full selection of our cheeses [stop by for a sample] as well as our wonderful and loved by chefs and customers Rose Veal.

We'll have lots of veggies fresh from our fields! Greens, winter squash, heirloom tomatoes, peppers and roots.

We are taking orders for Thanksgiving turkeys!  They will be $4.50/lb and can be reserved with a $25 deposit.

Flower Fairies

We are celebrating the first weekend of autumn with some great fall flavors like our Asian Pear Caramel Scones and our Harvest Pumpkin Scones. Furnace Creek Farm

Furnace Creek Farm offers medicinal and culinary herbs, as well as skin tonic, infused honey, and tisane made fresh from the farm weekly. We'll have another batch of our borage tisane, which has refreshing cucumber, lemon, and licorice notes, and a new tisane - marshmallow root! Our marshmallow root tisane is earthy, minty, and soothing to the body and soul. We will have three different kinds of infused honey: borage, feverfew, and tulsi. It's cooling off and Morning Glow Gardens is ready!  We'll have flowers great for drying and effortless fall decorating like broomcorn, wheat celosia and gomphrena.  We'll also have bouquets of gorgeous dahlias and cheery sunflowers!

North Star Orchard
Happy fall! Now that we're entering prime apple season, you'll see more and more varieties at our stand, although they'll never be the ones most people are limited to in the grocery store. Check out this post by our Farmer Stephanie to see the comparison! We'll still have a lot of grapes this weekend, as well as LOTS of Hosui Asian pears! Last week's special Apple Explorer tasting at the farm was lots of fun, as well as tasty and educational. We have two more dates coming up this fall - get your reservation in now before they're all full!
