Peace, Walks & Pictures
We shall walk together on this path of life,
for all things are a part of the universe, and are connected with each other to form one whole unity.
~ Dr. Maria Montessori

This week we held our first all-school meeting in celebration of International Peace Day. We began our Wednesday by assembling in the library area, where a group of older students read The Peace Book by Todd Parr. Then we sang Light a Candle for Peace together.

Finally, each classroom participated in a Peace Walk as each student paused to identify who they would light a candle for in their wish for a more peaceful world. We consider this one of the most special days at Mill Falls - sort of our school's unofficial holiday - and as such, we carve out important time to spend together and to reflect and discuss what each of us can do to make this world a better place.

Run or walk!
There's still time to register for the 5K/Family Fun Run & Walk this Sunday, September 25th! We will be joined by athletes from SNHU's Volleyball and Basketball Teams, as well as members of our own staff. Exercise, food and fun...don't miss this wonderful community event THIS Sunday! Click here to sign up or join us on Race Day - registration begins at 9:30am.
See you at the starting line!

ALMA is our new student information management system.
  • If you have already activated your ALMA parent account, and you are unable to login, please send an email to [email protected] to have your password reset.
  • The ALMA system is your portal into communication with your teachers.
  • UNLIKE Montessori Compass (our previous student information system) you are not able to communicate with other parents from within the system.
  • We are putting together a Family Directory and hope to have that completed very soon! Stay tuned for details. Please be aware, the Directory will not include those who did not grant permission to be included (as noted on the Family Contact Information Form).
Special thanks to Hind, Jen and Joanne for assisting Susanne at this year's Picture Day!. The day went off without a hitch, thanks to our
hard-working team which kept things moving smoothly from sibling photos (as shown above), to the all-school panoramic, to class and individual and staff photos. Thank you!!

A Fun Community Project

Looking for a few handy men and women to help with a Community Project.

We have received permission from our landlord to paint some games onto the blacktop area used for recess. We are thinking FourSquare, Hopscotch and some lines for our Basketball players. We would also like to create some tables for chess/checkers, some benches made from logs, and have a few other ideas for outdoor games to be placed in other areas of our outdoor space. If you are interested in helping bring these ideas to life, please contact  [email protected]

Thank you for your support!!

The staff and students wanted to be sure to send another HUGE thank you to the families who have so generously donated recess toys and equipment. The kids are enjoying all the new games, bubbles, balls and more!
They are feeling the LOVE and so are we.
Working & Caring...

The Glacier Classroom made this 'puzzle' to visualize the ways in which all the students in the classroom fit together to form the whole - part of their community building in the opening weeks of this school year.
Hannaford Helps ... For a few more days...

We are nearing the end of the month and with that the close of the "Good Karma" bag purchases that will benefit Mill Falls. Until September 30th, for every blue 'Good Karma' bag (pictured to the left) sold at the at the Bicentennial Drive & Hanover Street Hannaford Stores, Mill Falls receives $1!

Our Lower Elementary & Kinder Students made pinwheels which were then displayed outside - an outward announcement of our celebration of International Peace Day.
