Chai Notes
Our quarterly newsletter to keep you informed and updated about Chai Lifeline Canada's kids, families & events.

Thank you for continuing to help the kids and their families in our community. As we approach the New Year, we at Chai Lifeline have a lot to be grateful for. From celebrating a young man who recently received his final chemotherapy treatment to seeing a young lady head off to school for the first time in over 1 year. Chai Lifeline Toronto continues to grow in order to support the needs of Jewish families and their children.

This High Holiday season please take some time to remember those who are suffering from serious illness in their family. We are all grateful to celebrate with friends and family but unfortunately many are hospital bound, stuck at home, or bed ridden. May this coming year bring them and you, only health and happiness, as we at Chai Lifeline Canada continue to Fight Illness With Love.

Sincerely,

Rabbi Mordechai Rothman M.A
Executive Director, Chai Lifeline Canada

This New Year, BE the difference in the life of a sick kid.
This summer has been one of our busiest, ones yet! From filling shifts, arranging little sibling outings, delivering meals and attending awesome events, including our end of year Big Brother and Sister's event at Canada's Wonderland! A Huge thanks to all of you who made yourselves available to help out over the summer break, a time when you were probably tempted to relax and take it easy! Thanks to you, we were able to fill so many requests and help out so many families at a time when things tend to be all the more difficult for them, with their kids not being in school. You guys are the best!

In the last 6 months we have worked tirelessly to set up over 75 NEW big brother/big sister volunteers! As we have seen our new families grow month over month, we are specifically looking for post high school volunteers to be set up as Big Brothers/Sisters, help with hospital shifts, tutor kids who have missed school for treatment and more. For someone who doesn't have the schedule to commit to a weekly shift, we are always looking for occasional drivers.  We send out numerous meals each week and families are always in need of rides to their medical appointments - it's a quick and simple way to make a BIG difference! To apply or get involved simply email [email protected].  Looking forward to another wonderful year of making a difference!

Best wishes for a Happy & Healthy New Year!

Sincerely,
Jen & Nechama, Family Events and Volunteer Cooridinators

Montreal Schools go GOLD
for Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month
Our Montreal Chai Lifeline office recently teamed up with local day schools to partake in #GoGold for Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month this September.

Ribbons were sold to teachers, staff and students. All funds raised went support the continued services our Montreal Team provides to local families and kids.

Thank You to all the schools and students who partook in this initiative.
