St. Paul's Church |
September 29, 2016 |
When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?" "Yes, Lord," he said, "you know that I love you." Jesus said, "Feed my lambs." (John 21:15)
Dear St. Paul's,
We've officially launched the "Building Faith, Transforming Lives" Campaign to raise funds for our Flamevine church!
While it might seem an odd choice to symbolize a capital campaign with a photo of hands preparing food, it really is the perfect statement. The hands are ours, our parishioners, filling bags with food for others, for the starving in Haiti.
While our capital campaign is about a new church building, it is more about creating a space in which God can feed us and a space in which we can feed others. The Bible says over and over that God doesn't bless those who hoard for themselves. What God gives us, He wants us to give others. That is the way His blessings work.
"Building Faith, Transforming Lives," is now in week two. Week one brought $165,000 in new pledges. Our goal is $1.35 million and 100% participation. For now, though, we ask you just to pray, pray, pray. We will be in touch.
St. Paul's is here to follow the Lord's call to "feed His lambs." Thank you for being such an important part of this Gospel ministry!
Gratefully in Christ,
Pr. Jon

BEQUESTS
This is the time of year when many people think about financial planning, year-end giving and budgeting for the future and, for Christians, how we can be good stewards over the resources God has provided to us. One very important aspect of planning, which is too often neglected, is the making of a last will and testament. We want to remind and encourage you to make this a top priority if you have not already done so and remember bequests to St. Paul's. For further information or assistance, please contact Pastor Jon at the church office or Dean Sparks at 772.234.2398.
