This Sunday, October 2nd, Pastor John begins a new series entitled,
Teach Us To Pray. Prayer is something we've probably all done at least a few times in our life - perhaps in the midst of a crisis or an emergency. We privately wonder if someone, up there, actually hears it, and more importantly, will they or can they do anything about it. Can we actually communicate with God? If we can, how do we do it? Can prayer really make a difference? We are not alone in our questions about prayer. In fact, one of Jesus's disciples came to him and asked him to teach them how to pray. His answer is what we commonly call the Lord's Prayer. Over the next six weeks we will examine the Lord's Prayer and how it can help and encourage us today. I hope you will join me in unwrapping the answer to one of life's most important questions. It all begins this Sunday!

Men United is holding a weekly study called "No Man Left Behind" this Fall. It will be offered on Wednesdays from 6:30-7:45 p.m. and Sundays from 8:00-9:15 a.m. beginning October 5th & 9th.

Rescheduled - Fall Cleanup Day at AUMC  is now Saturday, October 22nd at 9:00 a.m.
Due to the beautiful weather we have had this fall, our clean up day has been rescheduled.
We need your help!
Please sign up at the Welcome Center for our FALL cleanup day at the church. Please bring shovels, rakes, brooms and clippers.

Top Notchers (55+) October Outing -
The group will be traveling to Winterset and the John Wayne Museum on Tuesday, October 11th. Carpool from the church at 9:00 a.m. Tour cost is $14 for those 60 years and older. The day includes a visit to two covered bridges and lunch at Pizza Ranch. Sign up at the Welcome Center. The fall colors should be beautiful by then!
