PRESCHOOL & ELEMENTARY NEWS

MAP TESTING
Over the next two weeks, students in grades 3-5 will take the MAP Performance Test. This is an approved and mandated assessment of the Diocese of Toledo.  The performance results will be mailed to each family once all testing is completed. The SCCS teachers will use the immediate results of the assessment to determine how each student is performing within the grade-level curriculum and make important comparisons at the diocesan and national levels. The results of the MAP test will be used to prepare our students for the next step on their educational path.

Please help us ensure that your child's testing experience is positive and successful by getting a good night's rest, eating a healthy breakfast, arriving on time to school, and gently encouraging them to do their best.

PANTHER MINI CHEER CLINIC
Saturday, October 8, the Panther Cheerleaders will be hosting a football season mini cheer clinic for students in preschool through 5th grade.  The High School and Junior High cheerleaders will work with the students to learn healthy nutrition, proper stretching techniques, motions, jumps, sideline chants, group cheer, tumbling, and dances.  Participants will receive a team t-shirt and are invited to join our Panther cheerleaders during the first quarter of the Varsity football game.  The football game is also "pink out" night, so we would love to see everyone decked out in their pink gear in support of breast cancer awareness and prevention!  Please click here for registration form.

This retreat allows our students to experience Holy Rosary Cathedral, one of our nation's most beautiful Churches, which also holds the chair of the Bishop of the Diocese of Toledo.  The students will have an opportunity to speak with Priest and Religious Sisters about their particular vocations.  Parent chaperones are welcome.  You must have gone through FBI/BCI background checks and completed Vertus or Protecting Our Youth courses to be a chaperone.  If you have questions, please contact Mrs. Sternberg at [email protected].

If you are able to volunteer, please contact Mrs. Sternberg by email.  All volunteers must have undergone FBI/BCI background checks and completed Virtus or Protecting Our Youth courses.
