Principal's Message
Dear St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School Families,

The accomplishments of our graduates reflect the strong academic, personal, and spiritual foundation provided by St. Francis of Assisi School.  A major part of our educational program is to prepare our students to succeed in high school.  It is to this end that the middle school offers a demanding academic program and an opportunity to participate in a very competitive athletic league.

We are proud to send our students to outstanding Catholic high schools - Servite, Rosary, Mater Dei, Cornelia Connelly, Santa Margarita, and JSerra, as well as local public high schools, where they can grow and mature.   Our students have options and many will qualify for honors courses and accelerated curriculum upon entrance.  St. Francis families should do all they can to assure themselves that their school of choice is a good match for their sons and daughters.

As a service to our families, we have restructured our annual high school information meetings to include both parents and students.  We have arranged for admissions representatives to meet with our families on Monday, September 26.  Representatives from Mater Dei, Servite, Rosary, Santa Margarita, Cornelia Connelly, and JSerra will be in separate classrooms for three 25 minute sessions between 3:15 pm and 4:45 pm.  Students and their parents may attend as many sessions as they would like.  We hope all 8th grade families will take advantage of this opportunity to gain insights about our Catholic high schools as well as learn about the admissions process at each school. 6th and 7th grade students and their parents are also encouraged to attend.

Selecting a high school for your son and daughter is a very important decision.  Our hope is that each of our students finds the high school that best meets their needs and interests.  Make an informed decision by attending the Open House at the high schools you are considering and take advantage of the high school information sessions at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School.

20th Anniversary Celebration

St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School opened its doors to 420 students in September, 1998, and with Prayer, Peace and Perseverance has been preparing students for academic achievement, social success, and spiritual growth ever since.  Twenty years of excellence in education warrants a celebration.  We plan to commemorate this significant milestone and set the course for our future with a capital campaign.  All of our students have benefitted from the strong foundation that our school provides.  As we look back on twenty years, it is time to lay the foundation, literally and figuratively, for the many students and years ahead.

There is an undeniable abundance of talent in our school community that can assist in making this project a success. We need your help to identify resources and skill sets that align with our goal.  If you have experience with capital campaigns and building projects and you are passionate about St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School, please contact Mr. Waszak at twaszak@sfayl.org.
