ST. PHILIP PAGES AND BLOGS
Principal Notes

Dear Parents,

Today we are sending home the STAR results for the first testing window. Grades K-5 have their results in their Blue Folders.  Junior High results were mailed this morning.  Depending on your child's grade, you will receive up to three reports.

Kindergarten and First Grade (1)
Second and Third Grades (3)
Fourth and above (2)

Please be sure to look in the top left corner of the report for the test subject.

These results are a snapshot of your child's progress at the beginning of the year.  We will test three more times this year and we will be looking for continued progress.  Remember that test results are only one small part of what comprises your child's academic growth.  How they function in the classroom, how they complete assignments and show learning, and how they work alone and in collaborative groups are all important indicators of progress and growth.

If you have questions about your child's STAR results, make an appointment to meet with the teacher.  Our formal parent conferences are at the beginning of December and we will have another testing window before that.  Even though the results have a line for parent signature, you do not have to sign and return them.

Don't forget to review your portal information!  We are opening the portals up today at 4 pm.

Have a wonderful week!

Sincerely,
Jennifer

LANDFILL HARMONIC
LANDFILL HARMONIC

ABOUT THE FILM:
Kids living in a slum built on a landfill in Paraguay create The Recycled Orchestra. Unable to afford traditional instruments they instead create all of their instruments from trash. When their story goes viral they tour the world, finally realizing their wildest dream: to play with the heavy metal band, Megadeth. The film is a testimony to the transformative power of music and the resilience of the human spirit.
