Middle School Spiritual Retreat

The theme this year is all about IDENTITY! We pray that the students will grow a strong sense of who they are in Christ and how He has made them. The students will also enjoy a fun day at the camp with high ropes courses, zip-lining, rock wall, canoeing, tie-dying shirts and team building games.
More information is being sent home with your middle school student.

Mr. Johnson's Wish List
The last few weeks, the students have really enjoyed learning to play some simple percussion rhythms, so I've decided to start a percussion ensemble. The students would use marching band type instruments (snare, cymbals etc). and use them during basketball games and other events; the beginnings of a pep band!
I've already gathered some instruments, but I could really use a set of quad toms (those 4 drums that are carried on a rack when they march) a
nd a marching band bass drum. I know it's a "long shot" but If any of you you know of someone who also has some extra drum sticks (3 pair), hard rubber mallets for my cymbals (3 pair), quad toms, and a marching bass drum that would be awesome. I will choose primarily 5-6 graders for this ensemble. My plan is to get them ready to perform for the Christmas musical this year. Then, once we are well rehearsed, we will add melodic instruments for next years big kick-off. So, if anyone knows anyone with those instruments, let me know! It never hurts to ask, right?! Im so excited! We are having a blast in music! -Mr. Johnson
