ENDLESS FAMILY FUN AT SHAKORI HILLS GRASSROOTS FESTIVAL
PITTSBORO, N.C. - The 13th annual Shakori Hills GrassRoots Festival of Music & Dance is a celebration of music and art that welcomes families and encourages them to fully experience all that the festival has to offer. The festival takes place from Thursday, Oct. 6 to Sunday, Oct. 9, and many activities for kids of all ages are scheduled throughout the four days.
The Kid's Zone is located at the heart of the festival grounds and activities there include: hands-on art projects, group games, performances, workshops, puppet shows, face painting, dancing, yoga, a parade and much more! The multitude of activities that are constantly available are sure to spark children's creativity and imagination!
"
Families are at the heart of our festival," says Festival Co-Coordinator, Sara Waters, "We've had so many kids whose parents brought them here when they were little who are coming as adults now! It's like they grew up here. And when you grow up somewhere it becomes part of you and is always something special."
Camping at the festival is another great opportunity to experience the festival fully. Camping families can also choose to camp in an area designated as the Quiet Camping zone, so that later night time activities don't interfere with bedtime. Kids 12 and under can get into the festival at no charge and youth (13-15) tickets are provided at a significant discount.
