Dear Alumni Community,
This month marked the 39th start of school at St. Andrew's. The past two weeks were filled with traditions old and new. We welcomed new students, welcomed back returning Lions and gathered as a community to kick off the school year with the annual opening chapel at Washington National Cathedral. Finally, we dedicated and blessed the brand new 43,000 square-foot Student Center, which is now open for all to enjoy. I encourage you to come by to take a look for yourself and share in this exciting trajectory of growth for our school.
All alumni and their families are invited to come celebrate and share their pride with us on Saturday, October 15 for Homecoming & Reunion. The daylong celebration has something for everyone and we look forward to welcoming you back to campus!
Best,
Madeline Wallace O'Brien '05
Director of Alumni Affairs

BACK TO SCHOOL: MEET OUR ALUMNI FACULTY AND STAFF
We love to welcome alumni back to campus, but it's even better when they stay! Meet the six alumnae who returned to St. Andrew's, this time as employees.
Liz Kiingi '87, English Teacher (since 2007)
Emerson College, '91, The George Washington University '95
"Although St. Andrew's may look different these days, the connections with teachers and focus on students as unique individuals are still the same."
Lauren Melvin '11, Admission Assistant and JV Volleyball Coach (since 2016)
Bryn Mawr College '15
"I chose to come back to St. Andrew's because of the opportunity to be part of a selective and very talented workforce where I am able to merge my interests in working with students with my love of athletics. The warm and welcoming environment I experienced as a student remains for me now as an alumni and employee."
Danielle Moore '09,
5th Grade Teacher (since 2016)
The George Washington University '13, Harvard Graduate School of Education '16
"St. Andrew's has always felt like another home to me, so I jumped at the opportunity to return to the classroom-- this time on the opposite side of the desk! I'm excited to experience the familiarity of the school culture, while also exploring the novelty of teaching in a newer St. Andrew's division."
Madeline O'Brien '05, Director of Alumni Affairs (since 2011)
College of Charleston '09
"The best part of my job is sharing the memories and pride of St. Andrew's with fellow alums. I love working with our alums to give back and see St. Andrew's transform and grow from our efforts."
Samantha Speier '95, Director of the Education Center and
7th grade Dean (since 1999)
The George Washington University '99,
Johns Hopkins University '
"I support St. Andrew's because it provides an amazing learning environment for all different types of learners. It was available for me and my friends and I want it to be available for generations to come."
Yaa Warren '09,
Assistant to the Main Office and Upper School (since 2016)
Gettysburg College '14
"I chose to return to St. Andrew's because it is a great nurturing community. I really believe in what the school stands for and what they instill in each student."
