Mr. Pule Recognized as a Teacher of the Week!
Congratulations to our own  Mr. Pule, who was selected in June as one of 24 Teachers of the Week by MyNorthwest.com in partnership with 710 ESPN Seattle and WSECU. Mr. Pule was invited to attend the Mariners vs. Houston Astros game on September 18th, where he received a $500 grant to use in the Whittier Physical Education program. Each nomination included an e ssay explaining why the nominated teacher has made a difference in their school or community, and why he or she deserves to be the "Teacher of the Week."

From Mr. Pule:

"A BIG MAHALO to those who took the time to nominate me for Teacher of the Week last spring.  I was indeed one of 24 teachers chosen for 2016 and attended Sunday's Mariners game in celebration with other recipients. The award comes with a $500 check to be used to continue to deliver a variety of activities in Whittier's physical education program.

Each recipient also collected an envelope.  All were normal sized envelopes, except the one with my name - it was much larger. I asked why and was told these were the nomination letters received for each teacher. It appears I had been nominated not once, not twice, or even a half dozen times, but 29 nomination letters had come in on my behalf.  I was, well, overwhelmed by your aloha and kindness. Thank you. I have read each one with gratitude. I am honored to serve Whittier's community, to be part of your Wildcat(s)'s life, and look forward to many more wonderful Whittier experiences.  I indeed love my job!"

THANK YOU, Mr. Pule, for all you do to make Whittier a special place to learn each and every day!
