Building the Fit Organization
20 October, 8 am - 4 pm

This workshop reframes lean and continuous improvement as a journey toward organizational fitness.  Led by the award-winning author of Building the Fit Organization, participants learn about six core principles that can make any organization faster, stronger, and more competitive.

Has lean training ever left you feeling confused or alienated? Manufacturing examples, Japanese terms, business buzzwords?  There's none of that here! By using fitness as a metaphor, Dan Markovitz, provides a familiar-feeling approach to improvement that makes concepts easier to learn and apply.

This is a wonderfully engaging workshop that is great for non-manufacturers, service industries, healthcare, government, office workers, executives, and anybody seeking to take a simple, fresh approach to continuous improvement.

Want a workshop sneak peek? Hear Dan speak on 19 October (and pick up a copy of his book) at the 2016 Mid-Atlantic Lean Conference!

Kata Practitioner Day

October 9, Philadelphia PA: The Maryland World Class Consortia, along with AME and DVIRC, co-hosts a Kata Practitioner Day. Publication of the book Toyota Kata in 2009 began a different way of thinking about and deploying Lean. Today, many organizations have made practice of the Improvement Kata and the Coaching Kata a part of daily work. The Kata Practitioner Day is a forum for everyone to hear firsthand from mid-Atlantic region companies practicing Toyota Kata.

Hear what practitioners have learned so far, and plan to learn by networking and doing, at this reasonably-priced, high-value event. Participation is strictly limited to the first 50 people to ensure room for engagement and discussion.
