A new report from the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED), and the Green Economy Coalition (GEC), 'Pro-poor, Inclusive Green Growth: Experience and a New Agenda', addresses the explicit linkages between a pro-poor and inclusive approach in driving green growth.
The report stresses that to be effective, green growth strategies will need to strengthen institutional and governance structures and respond to people's needs. Drawing from a number of case studies the publication provides practical steps for policymakers, business and civil society to work together to deliver inclusive green growth.

A Super Food, A Super Price: The Impact of Quinoa Prices on Local Peruvian Populations
The report, 'Trade in Quinoa: Impact on the Welfare of Peruvian Communities', from the ITC, examines the impact of the international quinoa prices on the livelihoods of communities in the Peruvian altiplano. The paper presents results of an ITC household survey showing that the wellbeing of households in traditional quinoa growing regions has risen and fallen along with quinoa prices.

What does Gender-sensitive Climate Development Look Like?
The CDKN have produced the comparative study, '10 things to know: Gender Equality and Achieving Climate Goals', focusing on gender approaches for climate compatible development initiatives in Peru, Kenya and India. This research study highlights the advantages and challenges of pursuing climate compatible development, such as inclusive green growth, from a gender perspective. The field work focused particularly on urban environments, as there is a relative paucity of data from cities, compared to rural areas.

Development Finance
The Inquiry into the Design of a Sustainable Financial System (UNEP Inquiry) has published the paper, 'Green Finance and Developing Countries: Needs, Concerns and Innovations'. The paper highlights the importance developing country actors place on embedding green into a broader sustainable finance lens, the significance of international developments in greening the financial system given their dependence on foreign direct investment, and the evidence of and potential for leapfrogging in aligning their financial systems to sustainable development, for example through the deployment of fintech.

Low Carbon Development in the World's Two Biggest Populations
This publication, 'Low Carbon Development in China and India: Issues and Strategies', is a collaborative effort on low carbon development for China and India, focusing on three main themes important for operationalizing low carbon development, including: technology and innovation policy, financing, and informing sub-national actions. The report is produced by TERI, the National Centre for Climate Change Strategy and International Cooperation, Central University of Finance and Economics, Zhejiang University, UNDP and Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation.

The report, 'Policy Guidance on Resource Efficiency', from the OECD, focuses on policy strategies for establishing a resource efficient economy. The report explores the ways in which improving resource efficiency by putting in place policies that implement the principles of reduce, reuse, recycle (the 3Rs) is crucial to improving resource use, security and competitiveness while diminishing the associated environmental impacts.

The report, 'Inclusive green economy policies and structural transformation in Burkina Faso', from UNECA, identifies the relations between inclusive green economy policies and the structural transformation of the economy of Burkina Faso. It examines ways in which inclusive green economy policies help to shape structural economic transformation in Burkina Faso with a view to sustainable development. The study draws on a conceptual framework which explores the place and role of inclusive green economy policies in structural transformation and sustainable development. The report is only available in French.

The report, 'State of Sustainability Initiatives Review: Standards and the Blue Economy' offers a rare analysis of the market and performance characteristics of international sustainability standards operating across both the wild catch and aquaculture sectors. The Review, jointly produced by IISD, IIED and the Finance Alliance for Sustainable Trade, provides a reference point for buyers, producers, policy makers and consumers in deciding how best to apply voluntary standards in their own decision-making processes.
