"
Blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit."
Jeremiah 17:7-8 NLT
As a body of Christ followers, our strength and confidence grows in the Lord when we are spending personal time reading and obeying God's Word.
By the time you receive this newsletter, Our women will have already gathered for their Girlfriends & God Getaway at Lake Yale and had a great retreat. I am thanking the Lord in advance for the Spiritual Growth and relational bonds that were built in the lives of the over 100 ladies who were able to attend. Thank you also to the team of ladies that took the lead and sacrificed their time and energy to put all the details of the retreat together.
It may seem early, but Men, go ahead and mark your calendars now for our retreat scheduled for January 27-28, 2017 at Lake Yale. We will have some more details in the coming weeks.
For the month's of September and October, our Sunday morning teaching series has been entitled "SHIFT". We are learning in this series that good relationships are possible, especially when we choose to do things God's way. As it relates to relationships, what's natural or feels good might be right in the eyes of the world but may not be to God. As followers of Christ, we desperately need the knowledge of God's word but also the courage and strength fueled by the Holy Spirit to make the "SHIFT" to live as God intended us to live.
Our next series "Leading Generously", will begin on Sunday October 30th and take us through the month of November. This teaching is the last part in a three part series called "Living Generously" that we began two years ago. This series includes a weekly 5-7 minute Video clip that centers around the life of Frank Donovan and his family. Frank, was a man who thought he had his life all planned out. Until one day his life was turned upside down. Frank learned the lesson that a Godly life was a Generous life.
Talking about Generosity, thank you so much for your giving toward "Project Generosity" and Fruitland Park Elementary. We reached our overall goal of $12,500 that came from around the community. I was encouraged for not only reaching the goal but also that our Heritage Family alone gave over $4000 towards this project! PRAISE THE LORD.
Don't miss this year's Annual Fall Festival being held at Cottom's farms on Sunday October 23rd. We won't gather that morning at the church house but we will meet that afternoon at Cottom Farm for the festival. Make sure you mark your calendar. This is an intentional time of fellowship for our Church body as well as a great environment to invite friends who maybe have never attended church or don't have a church home.
Lastly, we have so much to be thankful for, but at the top of that list is you. Thank you for prayers and love for one another. You make Heritage a great family to be part of. As you live out your faith in Jesus, whose life will be impacted this next month?
We love you,
Pastor Sid
