Questions for
Reflection

What are some ways you have served others in the past?

What's a way you've thought of serving others but have not found a time or way to do it yet?

What would it take to make room to serve in that or another way?

Worship + 2 :: Serve Others
The Rev. Karin Hejmanowski, preaching

It's a gift to gather together and worship the One Who is the Creator of all that exists and is also the Lover of our souls.

This week we'll continue our series of Worship + 2 and will look specifically at serving others. We are thrilled that our seventh and eighth graders will be worshiping with us. We also hope that as part of Worship + 2, you'll join us either for the New Members' class right after service (please RSVP by replying to this email!) or the class called Interpreting Scripture in Community.

I look forward to seeing you at 7:50 a.m., 10 a.m., or 5 p.m. to worship together!

Peace,
Karin

P.S. We encourage you to register for the 5-week Interpreting Scripture in Community class that starts this week and will be taught by Pastor Debbie Whaley. You can choose to attend the Sunday or Wednesday class.

Theme for the Day

We must restore hope to young people, help the old, be open to the future, spread love. Be poor among the poor. We need to include the excluded and preach peace.

Scripture Passage

Galatians 5:13-14First-Scripture

For you were called to freedom, brothers and sisters; only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for self-indulgence, but through love become slaves to one another. For the whole law is summed up in a single commandment, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'

1 Peter 4:8-11 Second-Scripture

Above all, maintain constant love for one another, for love covers a multitude of sins. Be hospitable to one another without complaining. Like good stewards of the manifold grace of God, serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received. Whoever speaks must do so as one speaking the very words of God; whoever serves must do so with the strength that God supplies, so that God may be glorified in all things through Jesus Christ. To him belong the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.
