Earlier this month, I announced a comprehensive school reorganization proposal to address declining enrollment, overcrowding, and pressing capital needs at area schools. Since then, I have participated in five public meetings to gather feedback from parents and residents. Throughout that process, I've collected many good suggestions and ideas, and requests for additional information from CPS.
I will now share this feedback with CPS while working to obtain answers to questions raised at these meetings. I would like to thank everyone who offered feedback during this process. I look forward to coming back to the community with additional information next month.
This proposal represents what I believe is best for the entire 19th Ward community. While it has been presented to the public for consideration, no decisions have been made at this time. I remain very open to alternate ideas or suggestions.
Sincerely,
Matt O'Shea
Alderman, 19th Ward
