In 1957, Bronx, NY native Lenny Rosenbluth led an unlikely band of Tar Heels to a perfect 32-0 season. Many remember that this season was capped off by an electrifying three overtime national championship win over 7'1" star Wilt Chamberlain and Kansas. This was the Tar Heels first-ever National Championship!
This team set the UNC Tar Heel basketball program on a trajectory it continues to enjoy today. Lennie was truly the Michael Jordan of his era at UNC...he even still holds the
single season
scoring record at UNC!
On
October 12 from 6 to 9pm, we will celebrate Tar Heel basketball and honor Lennie, now 83, with a great Tar Heel party at Sugar Creek Brewing Company. Lennie will tell fascinating anecdotes about the team and coach that started it all! Food catered by Leroy Fox. UNC notables will be in attendance. Don't miss this once in the lifetime opportunity to meet and greet a true Tar Heel legend!
