Community Service Day a Huge Success!

Public Celebration for the William Cummings Monument Dedication
Folsom residents are invited to the dedication ceremony and celebration on Sunday, September 25 at Cummings Family Park, 1775 Creekside Drive. The dedication ceremony begins at 11:30 a.m. and includes the presentation of colors by the Marine Corps League of Folsom, comments by family and friends, and the unveiling of the new William Cummings Monument. Immediately following the ceremony, the public is invited to enjoy free food and entertainment in the park until 1:30 p.m., hosted by the Cummings Family. Enjoy food and goodies from Ruffhaus Hot Dog Company, Mr. Pops Gourmet Popcorn, Just Cookies Bake Shop, Umpqua Bank Ice Cream Truck, and listen to great music by the Have Mercy band. Volunteers Needed for the Folsom Glow Run
Help create community by volunteering with Folsom Parks & Recreation at the Folsom Glow Run on Saturday, October 1. Volunteers will assist with packet pick-up, water stations, act as course marshals, and more. Individuals, service groups, and families are welcome to serve as volunteers; those under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Zoo Sanctuary Hosts Storytime Thursday
Folsom's youngest residents are invited to the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary this Thursday for a morning storytime featuring zoo puppets. Docents will introduce live zoo sanctuary outreach animals for kids to see and meet up-close. Stories begin at 10:30 a.m. on the Canid Deck; regular zoo admission fees apply.

Food Truck Safari Wednesday
Enjoy delicious food truck fare, live music, bounce houses and other entertainment from 5 to 8 p.m. on September 21 at the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary. This month's lineup of SactoMoFo food trucks includes Smoker's Wild BBQ, La Mex Taqueria, Wandering Boba, Cichy Co., Drewski's, On the Fry, Hefty Gyros, Cowtown Creamery, and Kona Ice of Folsom. The Zoo Sanctuary is located at 403 Stafford Street. This event continues year-round on the third Wednesday of each month.

Regional Movie Premiere: The Age of Love
The Folsom Senior Center and El Dorado Hills Senior Center present a limited one-day engagement of the documentary, "The Age of Love," at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, September 28 at the Palladio 16 Cinemas in Folsom. This award-winning film documents the real-life adventures of a group of seniors who participate in an unprecedented speed dating event held exclusively for 70- to 90-year olds. Folsom Police Department Open House October 1
Learn how the Folsom Police Department protects and serves the community at the sixth annual open house on Saturday, October 1. The open house will feature opportunities to meet Police Chief Cynthia Renaud, watch K-9 demonstrations, learn about CSI and fingerprinting, and take a behind-the-scenes self-guided tour of the Police Department and more! The event will be held at the Folsom Police Department from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 46 Natoma Street, Folsom. Learn more at www.folsompd.com.
