CAN THEY DO THAT?
Can my employer make me work "off the clock?"
Stressful woman can t finish job on time

In Connecticut and  Massachusetts the answer is No.

Employers must accurately record all time worked as well as breaks.  It is illegal to ask an employee to work off the clock.

While this may seem obvious, you'd be surprised how many employers violate this simple rule.  There is a lawsuit pending now against Chipotle claiming that they have had their employees work off the clock.  Here is a link to an article about this case.
