FALL FESTIVAL
Woodlawn's 8th Annual Fall Festival will be held
Saturday, November 5th from 10:00am to 2:00pm at Aaron Bessant Park at Pier Park. Join us for games, face painting, inflatables, live music, great food, and prizes.

Each year this event reaches out to over 4,000 people in the community. This is a wonderful opportunity for Woodlawn to Reach, Connect, Invest and Launch with individuals and families in the community, the opportunity to show them the love of Christ.

The Fall Festival is FREE and open to the public. This event requires your support. The Team is currently preparing for this year's Fall Festival and we need people to people to serve as team captains to help in planning, we need volunteers to work the event, as well as financial donations, and food donations. Within the next several weeks you will have the opportunity to start signing up on line. Please make plans now to be a part of this year's event!

COVENANT CARE
October 26, 2016 is an exciting day at Woodlawn
United Methodist Church when Covenant Care, previously Covenant Hospice, will provide a one day Volunteer training. This is an important opportunity to equip the caring members of this church, and those from this local community, to make a real difference in the life of a patient and family.  The investment of one day can open the door to many opportunities to bring joy, comfort, peace, laughter, and even the quiet presence of someone to be with a patient and family when they may have no one else to share that time.

Volunteering just a few hours a week or a few hours a month in patients' homes, assisted living facilities, or nursing homes makes such a difference for those in need. God prepares our hearts and equips us to serve and no special background is needed - just a desire to serve others.  Perhaps this is the opportunity you have been looking for to minister in your local community.
You can care for Covenant patients and their family members by making visits or telephone calls, providing spiritual support, giving practical help or a short break for a caregiver. Some provide a caring presence for hospice patients who are nearing death to ensure that no one dies alone. There are so many ways that we can be "his hands and feet" to our neighbors. You can learn more through the training and find out what areas you may desire to serve.

Covenant Care Volunteer Training

WE CARE
The primary source of funding for this ministry is derived from the proceeds placed at the Alter on Communion Sunday. Each month the amount received determines the level of assistance we can provide to those in need. This is becoming a greater challenge due to the ever increasing number of clients seeking help. In addition to monetary donations we can use canned fruit, mayonnaise, cereal, dried beans, BeefaRoni, and #3, 4, 5 diapers for the month of October.

We Care is open on...
Tuesdays 1:00-3:00pm
Wednesdays 9:30-11:30am
Thursdays 9:30-11:30am

You can reach  We Care at (850) 234-3196 ext 313.

WE CARE BAGS
The We Care busy season is fast approaching, which means we are in need of fabric tote bags. If you'd like to help sew bags, please pick up pre-cut fabric and directions from the top shelf of the Prayer Room storage cabinet. Finished bags should be placed in the blue We Care food tote in the Lobby at the main campus. If you have questions, please e-mail Nikki at [email protected].

COLUMBARIUM -
WOODLAWN MEMORIAL GARDEN
A Sacred Place Where People Are Remembered
Planning The Final Trip Home...What is a Columbarium?

A Columbarium is a final resting place, a meaningful place where members and their families can proceed directly from a memorial service to place a loved one at rest at their church home. A peaceful place for those still present can come and remember.

Why is a Columbarium important to me?
A Columbarium provides peace of mind, being prepared means your loved ones won't have the burden of trying to manage your wishes and the cost that goes with it. A Columbarium is accessible and comforting. Woodlawn United Methodist Church provides the only Columbarium on Panama City Beach.

Is a Columbarium Cost Effective?
The price range for a traditional plot & burial averages $6,500 (including cost of casket, vault & plot; additional costs may be involved). The cost of a Columbarium niche is $1,000, which can accommodate two urns. A convenient six-month payment plan option is available. Memorial care is managed by the church.

.. .and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
2 Corinthians 5:8

For further information on the Columbarium or understanding the scripture as it relates to your final resting place, visit our website at  Columbarium or call the Church office at (850)234-3196.
