BOOM & BUST
managing the ups and downs in communities:
A Guide

Kristof Van-Assche and his colleagues including Dr. Lars Hallstrom Director at the ACSRC examine governance of communities with boom and bust cycles.
They suggest a new way for a community to analyze itself, to understand its own past and present in a new light, to do this in a participatory process, and then use this analysis as input for community strategizing.
"Opening up self-understanding is creating new possibilities for the future. Some pathways of development allow for many possible choices later, and therefore we highlight the importance of asset creation and preservation."
