McPherson County to Celebrate Manufacturing in October
One of the main goals of recognizing Manufacturing month in McPherson County is to get young people motivated to learn more about modern day manufacturing. Opening doors to students, educators and the general public, brings more awareness about the evolution of manufacturing technology. Manufacturing Day is a collective effort of the McPherson Chamber of Commerce and McPherson Industrial Development Co. to connect manufacturers to their communities.

State of Health Care in McPherson- Tuesday, Oct. 18th

McPherson Chamber of Commerce
is providing this event from 11:30 a.m.to 1:00 p.m. at the McPherson Museum, 1111 E. Kansas, to inform our members and business community of the services and availability to general family medical care in McPherson. Access to medical care is a quality of life amenity that is vital to the growth of our community as well as the retention and recruitment of workforce.
Representation from McPherson Hospital, Great Plains Family Medicine, Hutchinson Clinic, GraceMed and Partners in Family Care will be present to provide an overview of their services. New Overtime Regulations - Are You Ready? - Friday, Oct. 21st
The U.S. Labor Department has disclosed the details of its final revised regulations defining the exemptions under the federal Fair Labor Standard Act's Section 13 (a)(1). If you currently consider any of your employees to be exempt "white collar" employees, you might have to make some sweeping changes.
To learn more about the federal Fair Labor Standards Act exemption changes and what it all means for employers - you are invited to attend a FREE presentation on Friday, October 21 from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at the ACCK office located at 208 S. Main. The presentation will be conducted by Jeffrey A. Houston of Wise & Reber, L.C. and will cover the following: General overview of the Fair Labor Standards Act; Different categories of exempt employees and test behind each; Question & answers.
