Most people are average, like it or not. If they do the same things, act the same way, drive the same car, go to the same stores, they are average. They don't stand out from the crowd but, rather, blend in. That is what average is. If a teacher grades on the curve, average or a C is 68% of the class with a B being 14% and an A only 2%.
The question really is, Where do each of us stand and where do we really want to be?
If we really want to be exceptional, we need to be doing things and acting in ways that the majority of folks are not. We pick our career, not because everyone is doing it, but by what is in short supply and what we really have a passion for. If everyone is buying stock, gold, or real estate, let them drive up the price. Now might be the time to sell.
Remember, truly successful people seldom follow the crowd and people who always follow the crowd are seldom really successful.
