On September 16, more than 50 new and seasoned tobacco-use prevention education (TUPE) site coordinators from Antioch, Brentwood, Byron, Liberty Union, Mt. Diablo, Pittsburg, and West Contra Costa gathered for our annual countywide training!
Coordinators work together to find resources during the TUPE Scavenger Hunt.
Highlights from the day included a lively TUPE scavenger hunt, a peer educator panel, and presentations on updated tobacco-related laws and e-cigarettes. All in all, it was a wonderful day and a great kick off to our year! Thank you to all who attended!
I am also happy to share a new resource from Stanford, the
Tobacco Prevention Toolkit
. The toolkit includes modules on e-cigarettes/vape pens, nicotine addiction, and positive youth development. Resources include PowerPoint presentations, handouts, and activities, as well as links to many resources. I recommend checking it out and providing feedback!
As always, please contact me if you have any questions. I can be reached by
e-mail or by phone at (925) 942-5328.
Thanks,
Emily Justice
