"The Art of Yellowstone Science" Inspires Students
Students at Wood River High School were inspired by the questions, "What were the origins of life on Earth, and is there life on other planets?" during a recent presentation from Dr. Bruce Fouke, a geobiologist. Dr. Fouke uses his research at Mammoth Hot Spring, Yellowstone, as a "window on the universe."

Compassionate and Caring Students Honor a Friend
Friends of Nolan Kreczkowski created a living memorial two years ago by building houses for Bluebirds and installing them near Ketchum and Stanley, Idaho. Their compassion and caring has sustained a large effort to incorporate Bluebird houses near local trails, contributing to the future of the state bird, as well is inspiring others to care about Bluebird habitat. Students Prepare to Save Lives Through CPR Training
The Hailey Fire Department is leading the charge to train all juniors at Wood River High School in CPR. Hailey Fire Chief Craig Aberbach wrote a grant and received funding from Select Health to provide CPR training for all juniors. Watch the video to learn more!

Construction Students Listen and Learn At Sun Valley Economic Development Summit on Workforce Housing
Students from the WRHS Construction Academy (pictured above with Doug Brown from SVED, third from right, and Greg Urbany, far right) attended the
Sun Valley Economic Development Summit in Sun Valley.
State Farm Insurance/Patrick Buchanan, Magleby Construction, the Board of Realtors, Cox Business and Power Engineers provided scholarships for the students to attend. The summit focused on workforce housing. Students listened to panels of local professionals discussing potential solutions to the challenges of workforce housing in Blaine County and how a public private partnership might benefit the expansion of workforce housing in Blaine County. Assistant Superintendent John Blackman served on a panel discussing how housing impacts recruitment for the Blaine County School District.

Community Conversation with Trustee Rob Clayton
Wednesday, October 12, 6:30 p.m.
Blaine County School District Trustee Rob Clayton will hold a conversation with the community on Wednesday, October 12 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Hemingway Elementary in Ketchum.
The meeting is for Zone 4 residents. Zone 4 includes Northeast and West Ketchum, Warm Springs, and areas West of Highway 75 north of Northstar and Northridge subdivision and west of Buttercup and Highway 75. For a detailed description of Zone 4, please see www.blaineschools.org.
Trustee Clayton states that the meeting is, "to have a community conversation." The meeting will be held in the library at Hemingway Elementary in Ketchum.
