ATAA strongly condemns terrorist attack in Turkey
The Assembly of Turkish American Associations (ATAA) strongly condemns today's terrorist attack by the Marxist-Leninist terrorist organization PKK in Semdinli district of Turkey's Hakkari province, which killed 18 people, including 10 Turkish soldiers, and wounded 27 others.

PKK has been waging terror against Turkish nation for the last 30 years, which has claimed more than 40 thousand lives so far. The deadly wave of attacks targets not only Turkey's security forces but also civilians constituting the ultimate crime against humanity.

The PKK is listed as a terrorist organization under the United States Anti-Terror and Effective Death Penalty Act. The PKK is a Marxist -Leninist organization that engages in smuggling and narcotics trafficking to raise money for its terror operations. Today, it pretends to operate under the banner of Kurdish nationalism.

The ATAA expresses its deepest sympathies to the families of the victims of PKK terrorism and the people of Turkey, and wishes them strength, patience and determination.

The ATAA urges the US, NATO members and Iraq to increase their support for Turkey in ending the PKK terror by cutting their supplies and forcing them to surrender to Turkish authorities.
