Heart Hero News
A Message from your NJAHPERD JRFH/HFH Coordinator
Dear Heart Heros,
Hope this edition of Heart Hero News finds you all gearing up for your 2017 Events. The new Zoo Crew has been exciting at Harrison Township Elementary this October. The "Kickoff" was last Friday and we already have over $1,625 dollars raised for the AHA! Our goal this year is to get into the Top 10 in the state but that is a tough job to accomplish.

I would like to have more schools get involved to do an event this year! Jump Rope for Heart and Hoops for Heart is a great community event that provides you with all the tools you will need to get started. Please contact me or the American Heart Association and together we will get a date that will work for you and your school district.

In the end we are all looking for more funds to assist us with meeting our program's needs. Hosting a JRFH or HFH event can help you get those funds by providing your district with gift certificates from US Games for equipment. If you help the AHA, they in return help you provide equipment for your program. This supplements your district funds and can provide that expensive piece that you may not have thought was ever possible.

Please pass this info on to a colleague that may not host an event, and ask them to consider hosting an event this year. It is not too late to get started.

Thank you to all who are planning to host an event this year. NJAHPERD and SHAPE America, along with the American Heart Association will all be excited to hear about how YOU make your event special.

Harrison Township Elementary Principal and Vice Principal will be Lip Syncing to Katie Perry's "ROAR" in our school "JRFH Celebration" in November dressed as??

That is the Big Surprise!!

Please send me your ideas for your event and let's see how crazy the incentives will get this year. Will you be Duct taped to the wall! Will your principal have an Ice Cream Sundae built on their head, by the students?

Have a great month planning and getting started! Happy Jumping!

Sincerely,

Mickey Fox
